Krogerus advised eQ Finnish Real Estate on the first-ever bond issue by a Finnish open-ended investment fund
Krogerus advised Special Investment Fund eQ Finnish Real Estate (AIF) on its inaugural EUR 90 million issue of senior secured notes in the first-ever bond issue by a Finnish open-ended investment fund. The notes were issued to Finnish and European institutional investors and are secured by a dynamic asset pool, which allows eQ Finnish Real Estate to both invest in new assets and dispose of existing security.
With a gross asset value of EUR 889 million as at 31 March 2019, eQ Finnish Real Estate is among the largest real estate funds in Finland. It focuses on investments in commercial real estate in strong locations and with financially stable and reliable tenants.
The fund is managed by eQ Fund Management Company Ltd and advised by eQ Asset Management Ltd, both being subsidiaries of the Nasdaq Helsinki main market-listed eQ Plc. As a leading Finnish asset management and corporate finance group, eQ's asset management business provides a full range of mutual funds, private equity funds and real estate asset management. As at 31 March 2019, eQ had EUR 10.5 billion in assets under management.
The Krogerus team, led by partners Tom Fagernäs and Heidi Kivenjuuri, included senior associate Paul Raade and associates Ida Hellström, Joel Kanervo and Hanna Kim.
