Krogerus advises Aktia on strategic partnership with CGI
Aktia Bank Plc and the IT service company CGI Suomi Oy have agreed on a strategic partnership, whereby the established joint venture between the companies will provide Aktia a significant part of the maintenance and development services of its banking business' IT systems in the future. As a result of the partnership, approximately 50 of Aktia's IT service specialists will join the joint venture before the end of the year. At the same time, a significant part of Aktia's banking capacity and data center services will be transferred to CGI.
The partnership supports Aktia's strategic goals to develop the company's banking business and services and to be Finland's leading asset management bank. Aktia estimates that the partnership will lead to cost savings of several million euros during the contract period of at least five years. Part of the savings will be used to develop the company's digital services.
The Krogerus team was led by Partners Juha Pekka Katainen and Mika Puittinen. Juha Pekka and Mika were primarily assisted by Counsel Essi Launonen and Senior Associates Saara Leino and Laura Äijälä. Partner Carola Möller advised on employment law matters.
