Krogerus advises Pihlajalinna on its acquisition of private healthcare provider Dextra
Krogerus advised Pihlajalinna Oy, one of Finland’s largest private health care service providers, on its acquisition of Dextra Oy, a private healthcare provider with clinics in the Munkkivuori and Kamppi areas of Helsinki.
Pihlajalinna is majority owned by funds managed by Sentica Partners Oy. Pihlajalinna provides comprehensive general and specialist medical services in seven clinics in the Tampere region of Finland. It also owns a private hospital in the City of Tampere. Pihlajalinna’s revenue for 2011 was approximately EUR 40 million.
Dextra’s revenue in 2011 was roughly EUR 28 million. Dextra will continue to operate in its current locations. Dr Leena Niemistö, who owned the majority of the shares in Dextra, will remain as managing director.
The Krogerus team was led by partner Mika Ståhlberg. He was assisted by senior associate Rami Salonen and associate Suvi Tervahartiala on the mergers and acquisitions issues. Partner Päivi Toivari and associate Mirja Sikander advised on the financing matters.
“I am delighted we were able to work so successfully with Pihlajalinna on what is an important investment in its strong growth strategy,” comments Mika.
